Dr. Worth offers microdermabrasion services using Vibraderm.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is the process of removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells (the stratum corneum). This can be achieved by "sandblasting" the skin with crystals or granules or by scraping the surface of the skin. The process can stimulate the growth of new skin cells as well as "polish" the skin.
What is Vibraderm?
Vibraderm is the next generation of dermabrasion using a patented new technology that gently exfoliates without the messy particles. Vibraderm uses a flat hand-piece covered with abrasive surfaces couples with "sonic vibration technology" to improve both the texture and tone of your skin. It can penetrate twice as deep into the dead skin layers as traditional microdermabrasion--with NO downtime. Many patients notice an improvement in the look and feel of their skin after just one treatment. Patients who complete a series can begin to grow new collagen and thicker, healthier skin within three weeks. It cleans pores and minimizes future break-outs. Vibraderm has also been proven to increase the absorption of skin care products. This new treatment is the talk of Hollywood.
How long does the treatment take?
The process takes only 20 - 30 minutes and feels like a facial massage. Immediately after the treatment, some patients will have a temporary rosy color to their skin which can last up to an hour. You can apply skin care products, sunscreen, and make-up immediately after treatment. It's the perfect lunch hour treatment!
Does it hurt?
No. Vibraderm is soothing and comfortable.
What do I need to do before a treatment?
Nothing. Your skin will be cleansed during your treatment. Sunscreen should be applied after the treatment is completed.
How is the treatment done?
You will recline in a comfortable treatment chair. Your skin will first be cleansed, after which your personal paddle will be gently applied to the treatment area using high frequency vibration. After the Vibradermabrasion is completed, a product appropriate to your skin type will be applied and infused deep into your skin using the soft plastic side of the paddle. Finally, sunscreen should be applied to protect your skin and prolong the benefits of your treatment.
What results can I expect?
Unlike traditional microdermabrasion which can cause stinging and prolonged redness, Vibraderm's gentle technology gives your skin a soft, polished feel and a bright, radiant look. After a series of 6 weekly treatments, your skin will be stimulated to grow more new cells and collagen leading to smoother, healthier-looking skin.
Can Vibraderm be used on any other part of the body?
Yes, Vibraderm can smooth and brighten the skin of the face, neck, chest, back, arms, and legs. It can be used to smooth rough skin on heels, elbows, and knees.
What can't Vibraderm do?
Vibraderm alone cannot remove deep acne scars. Darkly pigmented spots can be treated best with a combination of Vibraderm and IPL.
Who are the best candidates for Vibradermabrasion?
Vibraderm is safe and effective for all skin types and colors. Although everyone will notice the polished feel and look of their skin after a treatment, the best candidates are those with fine lines, wrinkles, acne, sun damage, or uneven texture.
Can Vibraderm be used with other treatments?
Yes! Vibradermabrasion works well with photofacials. By removing the stratum corneum, the light penetrates deeper and more evenly providing for a better photofacial treatment. In addition, Vibraderm can be done again the week following a photofacial to remove the "coffee ground" appearance of residual dark spots that are coming to the surface of the skin.
How much does Vibraderm cost?
The price of Vibraderm treatments varies according to the specific treatment you choose in consultation with Dr. Worth. Remember, consultations at Allure are complimentary -- so contact us today to schedule your free consultation.
