What is RADIESSE?
RADIESSE is a dermal filler that can be injected under the skin to restore a natural, long lasting, youthful look. It is made of unique calcium-based (calcium hydroxylapatite) microspheres suspended in a natural gel and is used to restore facial volume in the cheeks and correct smile lines, nasolabial folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
How does RADIESSE work?
RADIESSE works with your body. The tiny calcium-based microspheres form a "scaffold" to support and stimulate the growth of collagen. Over time, the microspheres break down and are safely absorbed by your body.
When will I see results?
The results are immediate.
How long does it last?
RADIESSE may last a year or even more in many patients.
Is RADIESSE safe?
Yes. RADIESSE is FDA approved and has been found to be safe and effective through years of clinical research.
How is the treatment performed?
Depending on the area of the face to be treated, different local anesthetic techniques can be used to decrease any discomfort. RADIESSE is then injected under the skin using a fine needle and massaged gently to create the best correction. Most patients return to their normal activities soon after treatment.
Are there side effects?
Normal, injection-related reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, bruising, tenderness, or itching may occur at the injection site. These usually resolve on their own.
Are there any people who cannot use RADIESSE?
It is important that you discuss your medical history with Dr. Worth to include any medications you are taking. If you are taking blood thinners or medications that interfere with blood clotting, such as aspirin, you are more likely to have bruising at the injection site. If possible, Dr. Worth may ask you to temporarily stop these medications for one week prior to the treatment to decrease the chance of any bruising.
How much does it cost?
RADIESSE costs $650 per syringe and treatments are customized for each patient. Many patients require only a single syringe to achieve their best correction. Other patients require more than one syringe. During the consultation process Dr. Worth will determine whether RADIESSE is right for you and how best to incorporate RADIESSE into your treatment plan.
