What to Expect

What is a Medical Aesthetics practice?

Medical Aesthetics is the art and science of using proven medical technology to optimize how we look. Services vary from laser and light-based therapies to remove unwanted hair or improve skin tone, injectable substances such as BOTOX and dermal fillers to improve wrinkles, microdermabrasion to maximize skin texture, or medical grade skin care products that improve the skin from the inside out. All services are performed or overseen by Heidi Worth, MD (our full-time Medical Director) in a medical environment.

What should I expect from the free consultation?

During your free consultation, you will be asked to fill out a basic medical form that will help Dr. Worth determine your skin type and concerns as well as any significant past medical history or medications. You may want to wear little or no make-up so that any concerns you may have about your face can be more easily seen and evaluated. In addition, feel free to bring any skin care products you currently use with you if you want to discuss them. Ample time is provided in the consultation to address your questions in a completely confidential environment.

Do I need to come early to my appointments?

Yes, please plan to come approximately 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork.

How long are the appointments?

Consultations typically last from 30 - 60 minutes. Appointment times for other services will vary depending on the services scheduled.

Do I need to wear special clothing?

For laser hair removal or sclerotherapy, you should wear comfortable clothing that allow you to easily expose the body part to be treated. Of course, pillows, sheets, blankets, and large towels will be provided.

What will I look like when I leave after a treatment?

Most treatments can be done during a lunch break and you can return immediately to your usual routine. Some treatments, including photofacials, laser hair removal, and microdermabrasion can cause some redness which can easily be covered with make-up. Injectable treatments may cause some swelling and/or bruising. Dr. Worth will describe all the possible effects of each treatment in detail during your consultation.

Does insurance cover these treatments?

No. Typically medical insurance does not cover the costs of aesthetic treatments.
